That\u2019s why I\u2019ve put together a definitive SEO checklist for 2019. By the time we\u2019re done here, you\u2019ll be well on your way to having a truly optimized digital marketing strategy.<\/p>\n

1. Start with top-notch keyword research.<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you\u2019re a marketing veteran, there\u2019s a good chance you\u2019re already doing this regularly.\u00a0But if you\u2019re a novice, you probably don\u2019t spend much time doing keyword research. This might not seem like a big deal, but make no mistake: An SEO strategy without keyword research is doomed to struggle.<\/p>\n

Why? Because keywords are the difference between \u201cwhat I think my audience wants\u201d and \u201cwhat I know my audience needs.\u201d<\/p>\n

2. Remember that content is still king.<\/strong><\/p>\n

For whatever reason, some business owners seem to think that content is simply a means to an end. But this \u201ccontent is content\u201d mentality isn\u2019t just dangerous — it\u2019s also wrong.<\/p>\n

The short-term growth that brands receive by tricking Google\u2019s algorithm for a while is never worth it.\u00a0Why? Well, let\u2019s ignore the fact that Google will inevitably fix this mistake, sooner or later.\u00a0The real issue here is that,\u00a0eventually, a potential customer is going to read your content.
