Our policy encourages an open discussion regarding issues of public and political relevance, however it forbids posting of personal information, or the encouragement of harassment or vigilantism.\u201dReddit will take action on posts that violate its policies, the spokesperson added, saying that \u201d[c]ontext is important in these matters.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tech-wd.com\/wd\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Reddit.png\" alt=\"Reddit will allow the alleged Ukraine whistleblower\u2019s name to surface\" \/><figcaption>Reddit will allow the alleged Ukraine whistleblower\u2019s name to surface<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Reddit has often taken a different approach to content moderation compared to other tech platforms. The company has a policy of \u201cquarantining\u201d forums that violate its policies, and did so with a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/technology\/2019\/06\/26\/pro-trump-message-board-quarantined-by-reddit-following-violent-threats\/\" class=\"\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">popular forum for Trump supporters<\/a>&nbsp;after determining it encouraged violence. The platform\u2019s structure encourages users to largely police themselves through moderators for each forum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/?symbol=TWTR\" class=\"\">Twitter<\/a>&nbsp;is taking a similarly stance to Reddit.
