Learn seven bad habits to break if you want to be more effective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Being ineffective at any job is a bad thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Being an ineffective <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazzlepop.net\/site\/category\/seo\/\">SEO<\/a> professional is an especially bad thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because our work can make or break a client.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re capable of getting a site banned in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazzlepop.net\/site\/category\/seo\/\">Google<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And we\u2019re capable of tripling online sales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We can also sometimes skate by on not actively improving rankings\/traffic\/conversions as long as we don\u2019t lose them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. They Put Too Much of a Focus on Certain Metrics Without Looking at Anything Else<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>No matter what metrics you\u2019re interested in, there can be explanations for why one might be lower than you\u2019d like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This seems to especially be an issue with link builders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maybe the site is new, for example.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s say you are building links and you happen upon a site that has an Ahrefs DR 15, but it\u2019s relevant to your client.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The content is good, the traffic on the site is building, and overall, outside of the lower DR, you\u2019d want a link here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do you walk away from the chance to get a link there just because of that one metric?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plenty do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alternatively, some link builders would go for a totally irrelevant link that\u2019s a bad fit for the client if the site had a higher DR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To me, there is no one metric that can tell me that this site is the perfect fit for my client.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019d go so far as to say that multiple metrics alone also don\u2019t give you as much information as you need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You have to look at the site and ask yourself if you\u2019d click on a link where you want to put it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2.
