New Oracle Deal Confirmed<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>TikTok is reported to not be for sale. But Oracle confirmed an agreement to become a &#8220;trusted technology partner&#8221; to help TikTok stay in the U.S.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazzlepop.net\/site\/category\/technology\/\">TikTok<\/a> is reported to not be for sale, neither to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazzlepop.net\/site\/category\/technology\/\">Microsoft<\/a> or to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dazzlepop.net\/site\/category\/technology\/\">Oracle<\/a>. Chinese regulatory issues may block any sale that includes TikTok\u2019s technology. Yet Oracle did confirm today that a deal is happening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oracle has confirmed that comments by Treasury Secretary Mnuchin that&nbsp; deal between Oracle and TikTok is being worked out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2020\/09\/Saga-of-TikTok-sale-ends-without-a-sale.png?w=1280\" alt=\"New Oracle Deal Confirmed \" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>According to a press release:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cOracle confirms Secretary Mnuchin\u2019s statement that it is part of the proposal submitted by ByteDance to the Treasury Department over the weekend in which Oracle will serve as the trusted technology provider.&nbsp; Oracle has a 40-year track record providing secure, highly performant technology solutions.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The report on an Oracle deal is that Oracle will be in charge of TikTok\u2019s U.S. data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But another report from China says no outright sale is happening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">TikTok Will Not Sell<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>According to reports from the China Global Television Network, unnamed sources confirmed that TikTok will not be selling it\u2019s United States business or it\u2019s technology to any United States business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The news comes literally a day before the September 15&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.searchenginejournal.com\/executive-order-gives-tiktok-45-days\/376818\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TikTok ban deadline<\/a>&nbsp;set by the White House executive order to begin identifying ways to ban \u201c<em>transactions<\/em>\u201d with ByteDance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">TikTok Acts to Remain Independent<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Recent activities on the part of TikTok indicates that it may be proceeding with a strategy to not sell the United States operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">TikTok Sues United States Government<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>TikTok is suing the United States government to keep things as they are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to TikTok, the United States government already knows that TikTok shields user privacy and information against the Chinese government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TikTok passed national security scrutiny as part of its acquisition of Musical.ly.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Read more: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.searchenginejournal.com\/tiktok-not-for-sale\/380709\/\">searchenginejournal<\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Is TikTok For Sale?
